
Bunny Egg Warmer – Free Crochet Pattern
This bunny makes sure your breakfast egg stays warm. It’s a fun crochet project for Easter! You could make a whole bunny family in different colours so everyone gets to pick their favourite at the breakfast table. Below you find the free crochet pattern in U.S. American as well as British terminology.

All you need to know is how to single crochet (double crochet in British terms), how to slip stitch, make a magic ring, and invisible decreases in single crochet (UK double crochet).

Materials and tools for the bunny egg warmer
Small amount of Rico Creative Ricorumi DK/light worsted cotton yarn in white (001)
Small amount of Rico Creative Ricorumi DK/light worsted cotton yarn in yellow (006)
2.5mm / C-2 (or B-1) crochet hook
Small amount of light pink embroidery thread
4mm safety eyes
Small amount of toy stuffing
Scissors

Abbreviations
C1 = Color of head, ears and stripes
C2 = Color of contrast stripes
Rd = round
St(s) = stitch(es)
Ch = chain
Sl st = slip stitch
Sc = single crochet
Inc = increase in sc: single crochet 2 in same st
Inv dec = invisible decrease in sc: Insert hook in front loops of next 2 sts, yarn over, pull through both front loops, yarn over, pull through 2 remaining loops
Gauge
25 sts x 26 rows of single crochet = 4″x 4″

Instructions for the bunny egg warmer
Start with the head (C1)
Rd 1: Sc 6 into magic ring (6)
Rd 2: Inc 6 (12)
Rd 3: [sc 1, inc 1]*6 (18)
Rd 4: [sc 2, inc 1]*6 (24)
Rd 5 to 8: Sc 24 (24)
Rd 9: [sc 2, inv dec 1]*6 (18)
Attach the eyes, embroider the nose in a Y shape, and fill the head with as much stuffing as possible.
Rd 10: [sc 1, inv dec 1]*6 (12)
Rd 11: Inv dec 6 (6)
Rd 12: Inc 6 (12)
Rd 13: Change color to C2 in a sc, inc 1, [sc 1, inc 1]*5 (18)
Rd 14: Change color to C1 in a sc, sc 1, inc 1, [sc 2, inc 1]*5 (24)
Rd 15: Change color to C2 in a sc, sc 2, inc 1, [sc 3, inc 1]*5 (30)
Rd 16: Change color to C1 in a sc, sc 3, inc 1, [sc 4, inc 1]*5 (36)

Rd 18 to 26: Change color in a sc, sc 41 (42)
Break yarn, pull through, sew in ends.
Crochet the bunny ears (Make 2 in C1)
Ch 6 leaving a long enough end to sew on the ear later on.
Rd 1: Close to rd in a sc, sc 5 (6)
Rd 2 to 4: Sc 6 (6)
Rd 5: [sc 2, inc 1]*2 (8)
Rd 6 to 9: Sc 8 (8)
Rd 10: [sc 3, inc 1]*2 (10)
Rd 11 to 13: Sc 10 (10)
Rd 14: [sc 4, inc 1]*2 (12)
Rd 15 to 17: Sc 12 (12)
Rd 18: Inv dec 6 (6)
Break yarn, sew in end.
Sew the floppy ears onto the head using the tail end.
Make the pom pom tail
Make a small pom pom for the tail using the fork technique. Attach the pom pom to the back of the egg warmer.
