
Crochet a little pineapple – Free Pattern
This little pineapple is another part of my fruit basket series. Below you can find the free crochet pattern in British and U.S. terms, as well as the video tutorial!
You can use this pattern in many fun ways! Simply crochet the pineapple as decoration, or play food, or turn it into a piece of statement jewellery!

All you need to know is how to single crochet (double crochet in British terms), half double crochet (half treble crochet), double crochet (treble crochet), slip stitch, and make a magic ring

Materials and tools for the little bird
Small amount of Rico Creative Ricorumi DK/light worsted cotton yarn in yellow
Small amount of Rico Creative Ricorumi DK/light worsted cotton yarn in green
2.5mm / B-1 crochet hook (my fave is the Clover Soft Touch)
7cm / 2.75″ long tip of an opaque, stretchy sock or tights
Fiberfill
Scissors

Abbreviations
C1 = Yellow
C2 = Green
Rd = round
St = stitch(es)
Ch = chain(s)
Sk = skip
Sl st = slip stitch
Dc = double crochet
Htr = half treble crochet
Tr = treble crochet
Instructions for the little Pineapple
Dc 3 st tog = double crochet 3 stitches together: Insert your hook in front loop of next st, skip next st, insert your hook in front loop of next st, pick up yarn, pull through 2 loops on your hook, pick up yarn, pull through 2 remaining loops.
Make a magic ring in C1
Rd 1 into mr: Ch 2, tr 2, ch 1, tr 3, ch 1, tr 3, ch 1, sl st in betw. ch of 2 and 1st tr
Rd 2: Sl st in next st (1st tr of rd), ch 3, tr 2 in same st, [sk 1, tr 3 under next ch (in betw. trs), sk 1, tr 3 in next st (middle tr of next group of 3)] repeat from [ to ] 3 times, sk 1, tr 3 under last ch of rd, sl st in front loop of 3rd ch
Rd 3 to 6: Sl st in betw. ch of 3 and 1st tr, ch 2, tr 2 in same place, [sk 2, tr 3 in next st (1st tr of next group of 3)] repeat from [ to ] 7 times, sl st in front loop of 3rd ch
Fill the little pineapple
Line the pineapple with the sock and stuff the sock with fiberfill. Divide the opening of the sock into two parts and tie them together.
Continue crocheting the pineapple
Make sure the stuffing and sock are tucked in while you crochet the next round.
Rd 7: Dc in betw. ch of 3 and 1st tr, [sk 2, tr 3 in next st (1st tr of next group of 3), sk 2, dc in next st (1st tr of next group of 3)] repeat from [ to ] 3 times, sk 2, tr 3 in next st (1st tr of next group of 3), sl st in 1st dc of rd
Rd 8: Dc in next st, change colour to C2 in a dc, dc 3 st tog* ,[dc 1, dc 3 tog*] repeat from [ to ] 3 times
*Insert your hook in front loop of next st, skip next st, insert your hook in front loop of next st, pick up yarn, pull through 2 loops on your hook, pick up yarn, pull through 2 remaining loops
Rd 9: [Ch 10, sl st in next 2 ch (starting from 2nd from hook), dc in next 2 ch, htr in next 2 ch, tr in next 3 ch, sl st in next st] repeat 7 times
Rd 10: [Sl st under middle tr of next group of 3, ch 7, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, dc in next ch, htr in next ch, tr in next 3 ch, sl st under 1st tr of next group of 3 (or ch of 3)] repeat 4 times
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Weave in the C1 and C2 tails, then use the long C2 tail to sew the leaves in position, so they are upright. Weave in tail into one of the leaves.
